"Architectural Cabinet In Renaissance Style Marquetry In The Taste Of The Far East With 3 Secret Caches"
Important Renaissance-style architectural piece of furniture in ebonized wood and black lacquer opening to a central door and several drawers on its console with twisted legs. The front and sides, richly and finely inlaid with tortoiseshell, brass, mother-of-pearl, silver-plated metal and copper in the style of the Far East, give the piece of furniture a sophisticated presence.
On the door a scene of Saint Michel slaying a demon opening onto a sober interior in black lacquer with a mirror background and on the drawers scenes of hunting on elephant back, plant interlacing and weapon trophies.
A central lockable door, 11 drawers with ivory handles and 3 secret caches including one behind the capital and two concealed by the side columns surmounted by an anthropomorphic head in gilded wood with system opening. We have not yet found a way to open these last two.
