Carved Tobacco Grater Dieppe Cherub Fishing Fish Loyalty Eighteenth
Tobacco grater in delicately carved with a small cherub catching a fish, with the inscription relating to Loyalty "I die where I attach myself" above, decorated with a stylized shell at the top, work of Dieppe *, from the 18th century. This grater is in good condition. Superb quality. She kept her grid to grate the tobacco. Old collection label on the back. A note: defect (line) on the back of the part with the cherub, tiny little slits in the ivory, some dirt, scratches and wear of time on the decorations, see photos.
