"Superb Large XIXth Cachepot In Enamelled Earthenware Attributed To Eugène Collinot Or Edouard Gilles"
This superb cache-pot from the late 19th century, circa 1860-1880, is in very good condition. It is not signed. However, I think it is the work of Eugène Collinot, one of the greatest recognized specialists in relief enamels on earthenware. An attribution is also possible to Edouard Gilles who worked in the workshops of Eugène Collinot. The decor of cockatoos, butterflies, flowers and foliage on a turquoise background is truly magnificent. The grips are in the shape of dragon heads. Diameter (without handles): 28 cm. Height: 23cm. Fast, neat and very secure shipping.
