Henry Fugère was born in Saint-Mandé in 1872. He studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Cavelier, Barrias and Puech. At the same time, he pursued careers as a bronze, bronze and ivory and stone sculptor as well as a medal engraver and exhibited regularly at the Salons of the Society of French Artists.
