It was in 1907 that the famous jeweler Alphonse Augis was inspired by a quote from a letter from the poetess Rosemonde Gérard, to her love Edmond Rostand, the author of Cyrano de Bergerac: "every day I love you more, today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow”. Thus Alphonse Augis took these few lines and shortened them to engrave them in gold and make these famous "Medals of Love".
