Augustin Carrera Born in Madrid in 1878. Died in Paris in 1952. Painter of French nationality, pupil of Bonnat then of Henri Martin at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He executed the ceiling of the foyer of the opera of Marseilles, representing Phoebus. He exhibited at the Salon from 1904, then at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Tuileries where he sent nudes, portraits, flowers, landscapes and views of ports which he sent to the Salon des Artistes Français, the Artistes Indépendants, at the Tuileries (1927-1933). It is in his southern views that he shows himself to be the most fiery colorist. , Carrera surprises with the liveliness of his palette, made up of violent and daring tones, wild.
