Pair of officer's pistol, "LOUIS PHILIPPE" period, 1830-1840, 19th century. Walnut frame with mid-length shaft ending at half the barrel with smooth handle, widening at the bottom and ending in a metal cap with a ring. Oval iron trigger guard with the longest branch extending to the base of the grip. The metal tip on the front of the barrel leaving the barrel uncovered, has an orifice for the passage of the metal loading rod and nail head. Ribbon steel barrel with brazed flange intended for fixing on the barrel by means of a key passing through the barrel with key head on the right side. Barrel of octagonal section over its entire length with tail of breech ending in a tongue fixed on the frame by a countersunk screw. Barrel carrying sights, barley grain front sight and "V" rear sight. Barrel with smooth interior, diameter at the muzzle outlet: 17 m/m, priming chimney mounted on a hemispherical base with slightly raised rear part to form a fireguard. Percussion elongated lock behind with checkered crest hammer. Metal part bearing an unidentified "rosette" type punch. Mechanism of both pistols in perfect working order.
