"Pair Of Imari Porcelain Plates, Japan XIXth Century"

Pretty pair of slightly hollow plates in Japanese Imari porcelain, with hand-painted decoration of flowers and birds in shades of cobalt blue, coral, powder pink and pale yellow, all enhanced with gilding. Marli plain blue for one of the plates and blue decorated with golden arabesques for the other (slight erasures of the gilding). Ideogram and decoration of branches painted in blue on the back of the plates.
