"18th Century Apothecary Box"
Very beautiful portable apothecary box from the 18th century. It opens with a slightly curved top lid mounted on a hinge and two pivoting storage units on the front. Numerous storage spaces, receptacles and drawers of different sizes to transport precious medicines (liquids, seeds, ointments etc.) There remain 5 original blown glass bottles and their pewter thread without their cap (the caps visible on a photo are fake). Some drawers are still covered with paper with a marbled and combed decoration, an embossed paper under the cover in imitation of Cordoba leather. This box has all its original wrought iron hinges as well as its top handle, its lock and its key which works perfectly. The body has been made in a beautiful walnut with very fine grain, it remains solid and in incredibly good condition considering its age and its function. Beautiful patina of the whole with well-proportioned dimensions (almost cubic). Even incomplete a rare object to find. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information, I will tell you about this object with pleasure, a real favorite among my selections. Delivery: €10 for metropolitan France.
