Elegant semainier opening with twelve drawers in five rows (two large drawers in the lower part) and a sliding tablet serving as a writing desk, covered with a brown morocco underlined with a gilded border with small irons.
Under the marble we find the hallmark JME (Jurande des Maîtres Ébénistes) as well as the stamp P.H Mewesen for Pierre-Harry Mewesen, Parisian cabinetmaker of Scandinavian origin, received Master on March 26, 1766.
The facade, the sides as well as the uprights with cut sides are carefully inlaid with rosewood reserves in amaranth frames.
Sainte-Anne gray marble top molded with a corbin spout.

Stamp of Pierre Harry Mewesen and JME

Of Swedish origin, Pierre-Harry Mewesen obtained his Master's degree on March 26, 1766. He moved to rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in his shop "la main d'or".
His production includes some Louis XV style furniture but he will especially like the Transition and Louis XVI style. He will deliver many desks, chests of drawers, secretaries made with talent.
