Object description :

"Pair Of Abstract Canvases - Guy Leclerc Gayrau - New Paris School - Ca 1960"
Born in 1942 in Bergerac, Guy Leclerc Gayrau began painting in the early 1960s without having had any training. He launched himself during the period of the new school of Paris which brought together a group of painters of all origins, having worked in Paris between 1940 and 1970, concentrated on the treatment of the abstract. Names like Hans Hartung, Pierre Soulages, Maria Vieira da Silva or Roger Bissière are members of this movement. This pair of mixed media is typical of the new school of Paris and the movement of geometric abstraction. The shades of red are rich in contrast: one presents more light than the other. The two canvases form a perfect complementarity. Both are signed lower right. One is titled "Pontichio" and the other "Gibèle" on the back. Framing redone in July and August 1991. They are in perfect condition.
