Napoleon III Showcase In Marquetry And Gilt Bronzes Louis XVI Style
Showcase in precious wood marquetry opening with a glass door. This piece of furniture is of exceptional cabinetmaking quality but not only, its chiseled and gilded bronze trim is also magnificent, of a rare and incomparable model.; they are thick and highlight the floral motifs with a powerful relief. The perfect quality of carving can be seen on all the bronzes. The one at the top is a plate embedded and treated in low relief in the style of the works of Clodion (famous sculptor who died in 1814). The bouquet of flowers is inlaid with precious wood on a tobacco wood background. The main veneer used is crimped satin in kingwood frames. The glasses are thick, of good quality. The inside of the showcase is dark with a mirror whose color is old and irregular. All this makes this showcase an ideal setting for displaying precious and refined objects, on three glass shelves. She is wearing a lovely marble with a pink background. The superior quality of this piece of furniture is reminiscent of the productions of Maison Linke. Louis XVI style, around 1900.
