Painter born in Bordeaux on August 30, 1804, died in Paris on February 28, 1867. He began his artistic career in Bordeaux, under the direction of Théodore Richard, and won a first prize for drawing, from nature, in the 1822 competition, at the Bordeaux school. Then he came to Paris and entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1824, where he was taught by Hersent.
The Château de la Caze is a Renaissance-style castle, located in the Gorges du Tarn, in Lozère.
