Tondo: Saint John the Baptist at the well with the lamb, symbol of Jesus. Oil on wood panel framed with a gilt wood frame (original gilding). Good used condition, to report some dirt and minimal wear on the panel, some cracks in the frame (see photos, not serious). This work is well in the tradition of Florentine tondo like those about the annunciation that was offered to women on the occasion of a birth. Very fine and delicate treatment of the lamb, the flowers adorning the ground, the face of Saint John the Baptist. Beautiful rendering of light, treated in chiaroscuro. The panel bears the hollow iron mark of the preparer on the back. Diameter without frame: 26.5 cm
