"Périgourdin Chest In Solid Oak"
Magnificent 19th century chest. Made by a craftsman, in the Périgord, around the 1880s, this superb piece of furniture is entirely in solid oak. The design is rather simple, with a lid that opens and closes with two cast iron hinges. It has some decorative mouldings, one of which frames the beautiful cast iron lock (the key is no longer present). It rests on 4 legs, the two front of which are turned in the shape of flattened balls The wood and metal have taken on a magnificent patina over the years. The trunk shows traces of time which make all its authenticity, but it is healthy. An anti-pest treatment has been passed for prevention.
