Object description :

"African Masks By Georges Ebrin Adingra"
Very beautiful cubist work by Prince Georges Ebrin ADIGRA (1933-2005). It is an Oil and sand on canvas signed at the top right, dated 77 at the bottom left and measuring 61 x 50 cm (64.5 x 53.5 cm with its frame). Georges ADINGRA, Prince of Kinjabo in Ivory Coast, was born in 1933 in Adou. He began by studying philosophy at the University of Abidjan but his love of Art led him to study Fine Arts in Marseille. His work is a synthesis of Western cubism mixed with his African roots: he carves, collects and mixes colors and techniques (sand, powder, etc.), to give life to images of African life. His work has been exhibited in Europe, Africa and the United States and a book was dedicated to him in 1990. Free delivery in Paris possible.
