Oil on plywood representing plowing with oxen signed Jean Baptiste Ségaug early 20th century with caption after Edmond Rostand. Dimensions oil: 77.5 x 53 cm. Frame dimensions: 88.5 x 73 cm. Armand Jean Baptiste Segaud: 1875-1956. Painter of mythological subjects, landscapes, wall compositions, draftsman and illustrator. He was a pupil of Pierre Victor Galland and George Callot. He exhibited regularly at the Salon of French Artists in Paris, of which he was a member of the jury. He executed decorative paintings at the Monte Carlo casino (Apollo and the Muses) and in Paris.
