Fishing boats docked at low tide on a Vendée coast. The gouache is signed lower right and a copy of the artist's daughter's certificate of authenticity is glued to the back. It is framed in a modern natural wood frame with a large Louis Marie, placed under glass and the sheet alone measures 26.5x33.5. Lucien Victor Delpy (1898-1967) studied painting at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris with Fernand Cormon, Jean-Pierre Laurens and Charles Fouqueray, then discovered Brittany and became a marine painter in 1931 Born in Paris, he died in Lorient.
