Exceptional Pair of Large Bergeres with Flat Backrest, from the Louis XV Period of the 18th Century. They are in Molded and Carved Solid Walnut, decorated with Fleurettes, Acanthus Leaves and Scrolls. The very enveloping shape, with its curved sides, offers superb comfort. Its "Coup de Fouet" Armrest Consoles, Its Small Arched Legs with Falling Flowers, ending in licking Acanthus; the scalloped front Traverse, centered with a Fleurette, its backward and turbulent Armrest Supports, the Curved Top Backrest, centered with a Double Fleurette, all its elements converge towards a realization by Pierre NOGARET (1718 - August 23, 1771) Our Two Shepherdesses carry a stamp of Nogaret-à-Lyon. They are covered with a fabric with a cream-colored background, printed with pretty Flowers in Pastel Tones. They are in very good condition. Very wide, they measure 105 cm in height, 80 cm in length and 62 cm in depth. The seat height is 50 cm with the cushion.
