"Five Ex-voto - XIXth And XXth Century"
Five EX-VOTO19th and 20th century
Embossed metal
Set of five ex-votos in embossed and chiselled metal featuring a belly and a pair of eyes.
The ex-votos were hung in churches and symbolized wishes.
There were two ways of doing this: either the wish was not fulfilled and the votive tablet marked the request, or the wish was fulfilled and the votive tablet was hung as a token of thanks.
