A very rare pair of Antwerp cabinets with cabochons in veined red tortoiseshell and brass frame on a blackened wooden background. It opens with 2 series of 4 drawers framing a door decorated in its center with a bronze statue representing for one Neptune holding a sea shell and for the other the goddess of the hearth Hestia holding the sacred fire. Rear base in blackened wood with patterns of windings and twists. Flanders, XVII. L 130. P. 42. H. 152. A pair of cabinets is extremely rare to find.
