Rare Louis XVI Regional Commode In Curved Shape In Waxed Natural Wood From The End Of The 18th Century.

Rare Louis XVI chest of drawers in waxed natural wood, concave in its upper part. It rests on four sheath feet. Its four uprights are all fluted and curved at the top. It opens on the front with four drawers in three rows. the upper row has two drawers, also curved and separated from each other by a fluted frame. All the fronts of the drawers are worked in strip flat and embellished with ring-shaped pull handles. Three out of four drawers have a lock, all of our locks work. Only two keys are provided, in fact one allows the closing of the two top drawers. Our drawers slide perfectly. The sides of our chest of drawers are divided into three flat strip panels, with the top one being curved. It is topped with a solid wood top embellished with a molding around its edge. Note, a slight veil on the tray, some traces of xylophages, a small wear to two keyholes at the level of the passage of the key, all being due to use and age, without any influence on the aesthetics of this undeniably charming piece of furniture.
