Marius Hubert-robert (1885-1966) The Sphinx Of Gizeh, Watercolor signed lower left Slight soiling on the right of the work Note: the work was produced to illustrate the cover of the book by Marie-Thérèse Gaudelat, Egypt -Palestine from the Sphinx to the Cross, Éditions Arthaud, Grenoble, 1932, reproduced on the cover (see last photo, the book will be attached to the watercolor). In the 1930s, the publishing house moved towards history and geography (landscapes, sites, monuments, etc.), they called on artists to illustrate the covers and the inside pages. Marius Hubert-Robert (1885-1966) also illustrated Robert Chauvelot's famous book, En Indochine. Éditions Arthaud, Grenoble, 1931.
