Showcase Buffet In Thuya Burl Veneer And Black Marble, Maison Stourm – 1940

This Art Deco sideboard, with a black marble top with white and gold veins and double mahogany moldings, is topped with a backsplash. On the latter, there is a mercury mirror, rounded, bevelled, with a cedar burl veneer frame, with gadrooned mahogany elements on each of its ends. In the central part we have a drawer with two bronze handles. Below, a glass door with a brass frame. The interior, lined with mirrors, forms a showcase with two glass shelves. On each side, this Sideboard opens with two rounded doors in cedar burl veneer, with bronze handles whose lock and key are original and in working order. They discover two shelves, forming three storage spaces. Its base consists, at the front, of double molded mahogany legs, which follow the curve of the doors, and straight legs at the rear. From the former Maison Stourm in Paris, specializing in Art furnishings, this showcase sideboard is typical of the Art Deco era, with its rounded shapes and pretty color.
