"Napoleon III Wall Cartel In Walnut"
This beautiful wall clock was carved in walnut in the second half of the 19th century. It has a rich carved decoration composed of gadrooned volutes and a bouquet of fruits. On the dial indicating the hours by enamelled numerals (of which a plate is detached) hangs a hunted partridge. The dial also gives the impression of being held by a ring caught between the teeth of a large mascaron representing a hybrid monster in the guise of a horned lion.
