Fine miniature portrait on ivory of a General of the Empire or of the Restoration, Marshal of Camp. early nineteenth century. Dressed in a uniform richly adorned with gold, he wears 3-star epaulettes. The man is elegant, well represented, the face is beautiful with very expressive blue eyes. The miniature is framed in a pomponne pendant frame. Work in ivory, painted more than 120 years before the 1947 Washington Convention and therefore in accordance with the ivory trade regulations. Our miniature is in excellent condition. Dimensions 6.5 x 4.5 cm
