"Pair Of Sculpted Angels - France Around 1700"
Pair of altar angels, arranged on either side of a tabernacle. They do not have traces of polychromy, so they have their original color and must have been on an altarpiece also in unpainted natural wood. Arranged on their knees on plinths in the form of a stylized wave, these generously sized sculptures are ready to take their place in a chapel or on a chest of drawers or console without being too imposing. The wings are removable. Some visible accidents, but old ones. Their style at the junction of the 17th and 18th centuries.
56cm high, about 30-35cm wide.
