"Papua, Marriage Currency: Wafu, Torricelli Mountains"
Used as a currency of exchange at weddings in the Western Sepik Province and particularly in the Torricelli Mountains, this object consists of many Nassa shells woven in natural fibers on a coconut spathe. The arrangement of the shells is artistic and shows all the delicacy brought to this type of very time-consuming coin in its manufacture. The size of this coin is particularly large, 70x30 cm.
