Louis Greuze (1863-1950).
Belgian painter, engraver and lithographer. From 1876, he followed the courses of A. Hennebicq, AJ Bourlard and A. Danse at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mons.Second Prix de Rome (engraving) in 1886.
He succeeded A.Danse to teach engraving at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mons.
From 1897 until 1933, he trained many students including the Binchois Louis Buisseret and René Mallet.
All his works are distinguished by the firmness and the great precision of the line, a concision of the drawing always tightening the model very closely, a delicacy of execution and an exactitude of character of the most rigorous.
Director of the Academy of Mons from 1927 to 1928, Curator of the Museum of the Centenary Festival and of the Museums of Attacat and of the Vieux logis in Mons.
