"Afchar Persian Carpet Around 1880"
Very beautiful Afchar Iran rug from the 1880s. A seedling of boteh, all of different colors, developing a very beautiful polychromy. Afchar Tribe is a former nomadic Turkish-speaking population who live in part in southern Iran and migrate in summer to mountain pastures south and west of Kirman. These weavers produced excellent carpets as well as kilims sold in Shahr-e Babak, Saidadad and the surroundings of these two cities until the 1920s. Nomadic art completely disappeared today.
