BERTIN Roger (1915 - 2003) Paris Montmartre lively street scene Oil on canvas signed low right Framed by Gault (Paris) Canvas: 54 X 65 cm Dim Frame: 76 X 87 cm BERTIN Roger (1915 - 2003) French 20th century Born in 1915 in Paris. Dead in 2003 Painter (gouache) engraver, illustrator, Landscapes, urban-landscapes, animals Roger Bertin's Works in numerous group exhibitions.He became a member of the National Society of Fine Arts, the salon des indépendants and the Salon d'Automne since 1938. In 1954, his "cockfight" won the Pacement award. From 1955 -1958, his work was shortlisted for the Othon Friesz Award. He exhibited at the "Comparison" (1955-1962), at the Salon "Painters witnesses of their time" in 1959. Bertin's submission "The control tower" was therefore acquired by Air France. Bertin also produced a series of engraving illustrating Henry of Montherlant's "Espana segrada Museums: - Museum of Modern Art of Paris - Museum of the City of Paris - Museum of Dakar (Senegal) - Museum of Philadelphia (USA) Bibliography: Dictionary of artists E.Benezit Vol II / 335
