"Cartel Applique Marquetry "
Cartel d'applique and its console from the Regency period, in Boulle marquetry of brown tortoiseshell and brass,
in the shape of a violin topped with a capital in gilt bronze, chiseled and surmounted by a Cupid.
It rests on four arched legs decorated with mascarons.
It opens to a front door decorated with a woman's face flanked by two flowered horns. H:82 W:41 D:15
Dial with twelve enamel cartouches with Roman numerals on a sculpted background for the hours, and Arabic numerals engraved around the edge for the minutes.
Console decorated with foliage and women's masks at each corner ending in a gilt bronze point and richly chiseled with animal heads. H:24.5 W:45 D:20
Movement signed J.Artus in Paris in perfect working order.
