"Cartel Applique Marquetry "
Applique cartel and console regency period, inlaid "Boulle" brown tortoise and gilded brass, the cartel is violin-shaped adorned with scrolls and gilt bronze acanthus leaves and chiseled ending with pompoms. He is wearing a dome-shaped bronze topped with a Love. It rests on four arched feet, opens to a front door adorned with a mask with a woman's face. Its dial is twelve enamelled cartouches Roman numeral on a backdrop of copper carved Arabic numerals around the perimeter for minutes. H: 82 cm W: 41 cm D: 15 cm The console is decorated with foliage and masks of women at each angle. It ends with a gilded bronze motif richly engraved with a coat of arms and animal heads. H: 25cm L: 45cm D: 20cm
