‘’Les bords de l’Azergues’’ oil on canvas signed Joseph Million, size 19¼ x 25 ¼ inchesJoseph Marie Millon (4 December 1861 – 10 November 1930 in Lyon)was a French painter in the Naturalistic style. Joseph Millon wasoriginally admitted to the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon in1879, October 21st. Beginning in 1886, Joseph Millon exhibitedsuccessfully and constantly at the annual Salon in Lyon. His earlylandscape ‘’Un soir de Septembre, souvenir du Bugey’’ (which is signedJ. Million)Joseph Marie Millon paintings are masterful renditions of luminouslandscapes. He particularly enjoyed portraying riverscapes andlandscape scenes of the countryside surrounding Lyon.
