A rare gold, enamel and pearl set pendant in the form of a ship.
Spanish, c.1700.
Measures 4.4 x 4.1 x 1.8cm.
The two-masted gold ship, decorated in colourful enamels is armed with four cannons to each side, an animal headed rudder and baroque pearl set terminals.
Provenance:
Lot 275 in the 1939 sale of Carl Roman Abt (1850-1933), he was a famous Swiss engineer with a great collection of Renaissance and Baroque gold and silver.
