Stunning agate cameo carved in high relief in a very beautiful two-layered crystal agate.
the sculptor has released the expressive face of a man in the white agate layer and the background therefore consists of the underlying agate layer, which therefore turns out to be a beautiful transparent and slightly grayish crystal agate.
the bust of a man sculpted in high relief is of great virtuosity, the details are indeed remarkable: the head is slightly turned three quarters to the left, the face is very expressive and recalls the head of expression from Messerschmidt.
the neck is tense and the veins are strained.
the gaze is directed to the left, and there are expression lines on the forehead and cheeks.
