It is a landscape and marine painter, born in Leipzig in 1838 and died in Paris in March 1907. In 1854 he was a pupil of Wilhelm Krause in Berlin. In 1856 he went to Paris to continue his studies and exhibited at the Salon. He won honorable mentions in 1861, 1863 and 1889 and bronze medals at the Universal Exhibitions nottament in 1900. He also exhibited at Munich in 1891 and 1892. Today we can see some of his works exhibited in the national museums such that: Cologne, Dijon, Leipzig, Melbourne, Mulhouse, Nice, Nottingham, Rio de Janeiro, Sidney ... Source: Benezit
