Paul Cheriau (1929-2014), Abstract Composition, Pastels On Paper, 60s
Artist: Paul Cheriau (1929-2014)
Paul Cheriau is a painter, draftsman, engraver and sculptor based in Provence in La Ciotat. Particularly sensitive to the forces of nature, to the Celtic soul, he leaves works that defy time: many schools in France (Paris, Nîmes, Fontenay-le-Comte, La Valette, Nice ...), keep its monumental granite sculptures. With his goldsmith's hands, Paul Cheriau sculpted stone, wood, sheared metal... animated by an ancestral creative inspiration. His works are inspired by the eternity of matter. He creates free forms, which sometimes become sculptures. He participated in many exhibitions in France. Pastel on paper framed under glass, Circa 1960.
