Empire table center circa 1810 signed THOMIRE À PARIS H. 30 cm Pierre-Philippe Thomire, born December 6, 1751 in Paris and died in this city on June 9, 1843, was a French sculptor and bronze caster belonging to the category of casters , carvers and gilders. One of the most remarkable bronze founders of his generation, he was known for his production of bronze for furniture under the Ancien Régime. Under the Empire, he brought this craft to its highest level of quality and founded, in the early years of the 19th century, an industrial company with European influence.
