A bronze dragon leans on the pediment looking down at a couple dressed in kimonos in a bamboo grove.
The Shelves are asymmetrical.
A beveled glass showcase opens onto a niche lined with orange silk velvet, the key of which is personalized with the initials GV.
Ornaments in polished bronze varnish element that is frequently found in the production of Viardot punctuate this piece of furniture.

Biography: Gabriel Viardot (January 2, 1830 Paris - March 19, 1906)
Gabriel Viardot at the age of 11 began his apprenticeship at Jeanselme On July 7, 1852 he created with his associates Viardot Frères and company at 38 rue Rambuteau in Paris.
Its dissolution will be effective on March 10, 1856, separating the careers of the Viardot brothers. Alexandre Laurent Viardot said Viardot the eldest will be cited as sculptor of HM the Empress and H.H. Princess Mathilde, manufacturer and stores of art furniture, boxes, blotters, books...
1890: Gabriel Viardot creates Viardot & Cie
1855 : Bronze Medal at the Horticultural Exhibition.
1867: 4 Medals at the Universal Exhibition in Paris.
1878: Silver medal at the Universal Exhibition. Year that marks the beginning of public recognition as a Sino-Japanese cabinetmaker. 1884: gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Antwerp, as well as at the International Exhibition in Nice
1884: participation in the Exhibition of the Central Union of Decorative Arts.
1885: Promoted to Knight of the Legion of Honor 1887: participation in the 9th Exhibition of the Central Union of Decorative Arts
1888: diploma of honor at the Universal Exhibition in Brussels
1889: Gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris
1900 : Gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris where Émile Gallé will receive the jury prize.
