From a family of artists, Nicolas de Larmassin executed the engravings of the portraits, those of the royal family after J.B. Van Loo and L. Tocqué are the most known. He was the engraver of N. Lancret, N. Vleughels and A. Watteau. La courtisane amoureuse (Courtisane in love) after F. Boucher is part of suite representing the Contes de la Fontaine.
