Vase with flared neck in glossy black enamelled ceramic with grey geometric decoration by Jean Luce (1895-1964). Signed with the artist's monogram and numbered.
Jean Luce began by decorating hot enamelled glassware. His first creations are decorated with motifs inspired by the flora then he will resort to decorations more and more geometric and stylized. He is well known for his ingenious use of the sandblasting technique in the decoration of his glassware.
He is particularly famous for creating the porcelain service of the Normandie liner.
Member of the Union of Modern Artists, he was also a teacher at the Schools of Applied Arts in Paris.
