Woman With Muff, By Pierre-adrien Dalpayrat
Woman with a muff, enamelled sandstone sculpture depicting a woman with a muff by Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat (1844-1910). Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat was one of the most famous and prolific French ceramists. Trained in the workshop of Jules Vieillard in Bordeaux, he settled permanently in Bourg-la-Reine where he employed nearly forty workers. He perfected "Dalpayrat red", a deep and thick oxblood red which he associated with green, bluish or yellowish jasps playing on the effects of mattness and shine.
