"Pendulum & Candelabra Louis XVI XIXth"
This beautiful fireplace set, which includes a clock and a pair of candelabras, was created in France at the end of the 19th century, around 1870. The set is designed in an elegant Louis XVI (neoclassical) style. It was made of gilded (gilded) bronze and richly decorated with champlevé enamel. CERAMIC LOUIS XVI Pendulum Mentel Louis XVI Directoire The clock is composed of a high rectangular case surmounted by a broken arch surmounted by a bird in patinated bronze. In the center of the case is a circular dial with Roman numerals. Different from the usual dials, this one has a layer of marine enamel and is decorated with a wreath of roses intertwined with leaves as well as 4 patinated bronze sculptures on the clock to make it stand out. The figures on the top of the clock feature two women in classical dress holding ancient Roman instruments and closer to the base are patinated bronze Putto figures playing a trumpet. CANDELABRA LOUIS-PHILIPPE 19TH CENTURY Pair of neoclassical candelabras The candelabras are of complementary design to the clock. The pair of candelabras in the set are designed in a style to match the clock. The candelabras are decorated with champlevé enamel and gilt bronze. At the base of each candelabra are two birds set on gilt bronze branches and above them hang beautifully carved wreaths of flowers.
