Very beautiful enamelled terracotta sculpture in ivory white color representing a laughing Chinese (maggot). Very nice quality! Gorgeous enamel and glaze! Quite heavy with good stability! Probably by Géo Martel, a 20th century artist who made similar magots in other positions of the hands and fingers. Here arms and hands resting on the legs and face with a burst of laughter! Very expressive ! And very friendly! Very beautiful old terracotta with numbering below. No traces of signature at first sight! Height of 39 cm by 35 cm wide by 35 cm deep.
