Folk Art Box In The Shape Of A Dog
Interesting box made in two pieces of boxwood representing a lying dog. The lid maintained by interlocking and hollowed out inside. The hollowed-out lower part also serves as an oblong receptacle (internal dimensions approximately 9.5 X 2.7 cm, depth: approximately 3cm). Beautiful patina of the boxwood, a hard wood and therefore difficult to carve Differences in color ranging from ocher to brown-red naturally nuanced. A beautiful work of naive and touching folk art. Note: the artist-sculptor used the vagaries of nature in a gnarled branch to make the tail of the dog in a corkscrew (monoxyle work). Delivery: €10 for metropolitan France.
