"Pair Of Neoclassical Style Pedestals In Gilt Bronze And Malachite"
The pair of bases is crafted from gilt bronze and malachite, which exudes a rich emerald green color and contrasts beautifully with the gilt bronze mounts. The pedestals, which are worked in the neoclassical style, are designed to resemble ancient Greek sacrificial tripods, a timeless form in decorative art. Each pedestal is raised on a tri-lobed malachite base, set on three gilt chignon legs and mounted with a gilt bronze rim frieze on top and square rosettes on each side. This base supports three curved gilt bronze feet, each ending in a hoof foot and culminating in a mask with a ram's head. The three gilt bronze legs support a malachite top with a circular profile top. This tray, set with gilt bronze foliate mounts, has a bulbous lower section that ends in a gilt bronze pinecone finial.
