Beautiful equestrian portrait, representing a field marshal during the reign of Louis XIV. This interesting equestrian painting presents a rearing horse equipped with an embroidered caparison which indicates the high rank of its Owner. He holds out his baton of command and wears a decoration on his red habit. This oil on canvas in good condition is relined, bordered and unframed. Around 1700.
