Stained Glass Madonna And Child Nineteenth
Stained glass window representing the Virgin and the Child Jesus painted with enamels, grisaille and silver yellow on smooth glass. Signed Marchand et Cie, Paris. A portrait of the crowned Virgin and Child is in the center of the window. A decorative "AM" monogram frieze runs around the edge of the panel. The background is squared by fine gray lines, between plant motifs, this is the so-called fly cage technique, widely used in the 19th century in neo-Gothic churches. Period: 19th century Size of the stained glass window: H 236cm x W 68cm
