Antique green frame with decorations of spandrels with gilded repairs with gold leaf. Dimensions of the canvas 49.5x65 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 70x84.5 cm. Georges Appert (Épernay, September 1, 1850 - Paris 5th, March 28, 1934) was a French university historian, writer and Japanologist, jurist and professor of law at the University of Tokyo. From 1879 to 1889, Appert was a foreign adviser to the Meiji government.
