DESCRIPTION A sensational French 19th century Napoleon III period ebony, brass, ormolu, semi precious stone and marble cabinet. The cabinet is raised by mottled topie shaped feet with a fine wrap around ormolu band. The bottom frieze displays a most elegant inlaid brass fillet which in repeated at the curved sides. Above a richly chased foliate ormolu band is the stunning door decorated with a finely detailed central reserve of semi precious stones and marble, depicting a charming scene of a bird amidst berries, flowers and foliate. The door displays a lovely ormolu keyhole escutcheon and additional beautiful and most decorative inlaid semi precious stones, all framed within elegant foliate ormolu band. Lovely flowers extend up the sides, flanking the door accented with most unique and intricately detailed ormolu mounts of a monkey and richly foliate and floral designs. The central drawer is decorated with outstanding berries, grape clusters and flowers within inlaid brass fillets.
